Schwartz and Rabzilla had a pretty decent idea. How's about a little gathering over the holidays of the 3LP chatboard regulars? The Laaz is in. Kerrie, Bionator, B.B., Wazz, Schmana...Whaddaya think?

You gotta check this out. The Smoking Gun presents a hilarious collection of pop star contract riders. You know, Ms. Aguilera must have "10 bottles of room temperature bottled water (Not Evian), 1 bottle of Flintstones Vitamins," etc. Reba requires "Clear plastic solo cups (Absolutely clear, not opaque)". That kinda stuff. Oh, and if someone dares to call Britney on her dressing room phone? That's a $5,000 fine right there.

A very harrowing cockpit flight recorder transcript from the Alaska Air jet that crashed in the ocean here in LA earlier this year. Yikes!

So, following up on my last post, which I happened to post about ten minutes before the Supreme Court released its decision tonight, it sounds like the Supreme Court is saying that Florida can go ahead and do a recount, as long as it's done by the end of December 12 ("about eighteen minutes from now, sir."), but apparently the other 21 states are free to take until December 18. Yo, dat's Bushit, man!

This is interesting. Everyone was making such a big deal about the Dec 12 deadline, how important it was to have the electors appointed by then in order to take advantage of the "safe harbor" provision. Well, as it turns out, only 29 states actually did. (Of course, Florida was one of them, but nobody seems to have told their legislature that. In fact, Katherine and Jeb were one of the first to submit their slate of electors, well ahead of The Body, and slightly ahead of Dubya himself.)

An executive friend of mine--a friend who is also an executive and not, as it were, a special kind of executive friend, no no of course not--told me a funny story yesterday. He was joking around with his girlfriend and asked her if she would mind if he put on some weight. she looked straight at him, and without smiling, said "Honey, remember. I choose to date you, I don't have to date you."

I saw both CAST AWAY and PROOF OF LIFE over the weekend. Liked them both. What struck me most was how similar they were, as movies. And with that bit of insight, I'll say no more, except to point out that the CAST AWAY commericials DO give away quite a bit of the movie. And while I think you can surmise that most of what you see will occur, I'm still glad I did not see them before I saw the film.
