More proof that Laaz is a man ahead of the times. From Roger Ebert's half-star review of 3000 Miles to Graceland: "I will give "3000 Miles to Graceland" credit for one thing, a terrific trailer. When a bad movie produces a great trailer, it's usually evidence that the raw materials were there for a good movie. I can imagine a blood-soaked caper movie involving Elvis disguises, a lonely tramp and her bright-eyed son, but it isn't this one."

I wasn't blown away by the LNSEMS, until I clicked on the Leo & Salsa "historical pictures" section, which got me laughing quite a bit. Thanks to Jon Heinsen for the link.

Saw another interesting bit on TV two nights ago. This was an MSNBC thing (I think) on the Challenger disaster. The interesting bit was that they actually have video, from a different angle, which I had never seen before, and which show a couple of new things. 1) you can see where the O-ring blows at the instant of ignition. 2) you can see where a plume of flame jets out of the smaller solid rocket booster, which cause the Hydrogen tank in the main booster to crack, which knocks the smaller booster loose and sends it careening into the main booster, which mixes the loose hydrogen with oxygen and blows the whole shebang. and 3) they isolated the film and you can actually make out the protected crew cabin flying free of the explosion and falling all the way down to the sea, a journey that took more than two and a half minutes at almost 300 miles per hour.

Sheesh!

Acording to this article, South Dakota has voted to change the names of some of it's natural wonders due to the offensive nature of the current names. What are these so-called offensive names?

"Attitudes about Indians and blacks have changed since South Dakota became a state, and the new names would show that, said Betty Ann Gross, a member of the Sisseton-Wahpeton Dakota Nation. Names like Little Squaw Humper Table and Negro Edge Canyon refer to traumatic events in the state's history, she said."

Squaw Humper? I don't see what all the fuss is about.
