Anybody catch this week's subtle Liberal political argument in last night's West Wing? (which was a fantastic episode I might add). Well, even as W. Bush pushes a decent sized tax cut based on ten year OMB projections and the Dems argue that we can't give a tax cut based on ten year projections because invariably, those projections turn out to be wrong, and what happens if we they are too generous?, I counted three instances last night where one character asked another character for the "ten year OMB budget projections" and was answered with a question along the lines of "aren't those always wrong?" The character who asked would then mention that yes they are always wrong "by at least a trillion dollars" which, ironically, is about the size of the disparity between the cut the Dems want, and the one Bush wants.
It might not have bothered me so much if those lines had had anything at all to do with anything going on in the story.

This site has GOT to win some sort of award for silliness. I didn't want to create a link that this nutcase could trace back to me, so I'm posting the URL and you can paste it into your browser.

It struck me the other day as I was spending yet another Sunday afternoon flipping through cheesy 70's and 80's movies on cable, how often Martin Sheen appears as the President, or as a senior member of the White House staff. but even stranger is how often he shows up as the President in films based on Stephen King novels. That's twice that I can think of off the top of my head, FIRESTARTER and THE DEAD ZONE.
How odd.
