Berardinelli reviews Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and at the end, mentions the trailer for the film, which I've never seen. Sounds funny though. Oh wait, I'm gonna feel really silly if it's on the DVD, which I own, but have yet to actually watch. I'll bet it is, isn't it?

A friend who shall remain nameless "borrowed" a "Simpsons Style Guide" from the offices of a website in the process fo designing the Simpson's web presence. Fascinating shit. Hundreds of pages on how the characters are drawn, their histories, catch phrases, etc. Even some really funny original material throughout. The cover has every character ever to appear on the show, along with a key. The cover alone reportedly costs 75 dollars to produce.

There's a very funny fake ad on AdCritic.com. I've linked directly to the Quicktime file because I think it's much funnier if you don't know what company the ad is for, so don't peek at the URL! If that doesn't work, you can visit the page normally here.

Here are two Salon articles Lars might want to check out. One, speaking of that episode of Fear, is a review of a book about being Buried Alive. The other is about Robert Thompson, the oft-quoted professor of television at Lars' alma mater, the Newhouse school at Syracuse.

Oh my god, I'm in tears! I was going to blog today's Onion's Top Story based purely on the headline, because I hadn't laughed that hard at anything in a long time. But now I'm laughing even harder because of the second picture in the story. You gotta check it out!

Good news. My car, which hasn't managed to pass its safety inspection (or emissions inspection) on the first try in quite a few years, just failed with the least amount of repairs required ever: a mere headlight. (Apparently the high-beam wasn't working, which is really odd, since I never, ever use my high beams.) I know what some of you are thinking, but it's a great car, honestly! I have very few problems with it, I swear!

I would imagine it would be embarrasing to have everyone in your company find out that you doubleclicked an attachment called NakedWife.exe... but maybe that's just me.

From a friend at VH1:
"Have you always wanted a chance to appear on a reality TV show? Do you eat, sleep and breathe rock and roll? Maybe you have what it takes to appear on one of VH1's new reality programs. VH1 is currently casting for a variety of television shows and you could be exactly who we are looking for. Check out this site for more information."

Well, the Greaseman saga continues. He's back on the air in Washington, on a 5000-watt AM station, that he has to pay to be on.

Well, I'm sure you were all anxiously awaiting the outcome of my friend Cici's foray into MTV's FEAR. Well I am happy to report that Cici survived AND won the five grand. Although they made them do some HAIRY shit. For one, the claustophobic member of the team (a guy named Chris) had to climb inside an old coffin at the bottom of an open grave. MTV then sent Cici out there to shovel dirt onto the closed coffin. The guy inside didn't know this was going to happen, and Cici was told she would forfeit the money if she tried to communicate with him in any way. Another girl had to perform a ceremony which involved chopping off the head of a chicken, then pricking her own finger and squeezing her blood onto a pentagram. Gnarly!

What the hell? Flying Dragon, Leaping Tiger? What are they, kidding? (At first I was afraid this was going to be a Leslie Nielson-type spoof, but apparently not.)

Couple things:
1) I TiVo-ed an episode of FEAR last night in which one of the participants (Cici) is a friend of mine. Cool. I haven't watched but the first segment, but her best line so far was, in her hotel interview, "If I get demonically possesed, I'm gonna be really mad."
2) Also, another friend of mine, with whom I attended the USA V. Brasil futbol match on Saturday told me about this site, and says she uses it all the time. She says she likes to send it as a gift, because you can name it yourself and the put a label on it with the name you pick. Purty funny.
