Apropos of absolutely nothing, this picture made me laugh for a good 35-45 seconds.

A little Theriot background from T:

Jimmy and Paw Paw have managed to engage the interests of a wealthy Theriault from New England to raise financing to restore the tomb of Pierre Theriot at the cemetery at St. Michael's Church in Convent, LA. You may recall that St. Michaels is one of the oldest chruches still in use in the USA. It is just down the River Road from the Himel Big House and is where Mon Mon and Paw Paw were married. Pierre Theriot is the the son of Joseph Terrio who was one of the first Acadians to arrive in Lousiana from Beaubassin, Acadia, New Brunswick Canada. Pierre was a substantial land owner (including the original Whelam Plantation) and fought in the War of American Inependence. Physical records of this generation are very rare hence the interest in his grave site. His son Michel Eloi Theriot moved west from the River and founded the village of Theriot on Bayou Dularge, near the camp.

Lately my car has been making this really nasty sound when I accelerate, just after starting 'er up. It's this really nasty, really loud screech. Anyway, at lunch today, Garth, Sascha, Rich and I parked near an outside table at a local restaurant and when we were leaving, there were four young women seated there. I started the car and then said "hey guys watch the faces on these four girls when I accelerate." So I stomped on the accelerator, the car screeched and all four girls just about jumped out of their skins. We all busted a gut laughing and once they got over their terror and saw us laughing in the car, they smiled, we waved, and took off. It was quite funny.

Sometimes you get to scare the christ outta people even when it's not Halloween.

Mitsubishi's Eclipse ad is Starting a Commotion, but who benefits more, the car company, or the obscure band whose three-year-old song is a new hit?

While reading an article at Fox News about how the Taliban has arrested a bunch of missionaries for "spreading Chistianity" I was struck by the following ominous quote:

"Besides the Shelter Now workers, the Taliban also arrested 64 Afghans whom they said had received instructions in Christianity from Shelter Now workers. The men have been sent to Islamic religious schools, said Bakhtar News Agency. The men confessed to their "crimes and anti-Islamic activities," according to Haqqani. The men have been sent to a "correction house," he said, although it wasn't clear what that would entail."

A "correction house." Yikes.
